Designed to be a fun way to teach children, ages 7 to 17, about their bleeding disorders, and for each child to develop skills that will allow them to care for themselves. Campers meet new friends, stretch perceived limitations, and increase self-esteem. In collaboration with the John D. Bouhasin Center for Bleeding and Thrombotic Disorders and the Hematology/Oncology Clinic at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, campers receive onsite medical care and education.

Sherwood Forest is so much more than “just” a camp – it changes lives. While the programs are anchored in a month-long summer camp experience, as a year-round youth development organization, they offer both experiential adventures and evidence-based programs that reinforce and support school-year learning. Traditional camp activities such as overnight camp-outs, extended backpacking trips, and river excursions are balanced by programs such as Book Club and the Arthur and Helen Baer Foundation Creative and Performing Arts Program.
Sherwood Forest offers an environment of acceptance, support, self-discovery, and learning like no other. Kids cultivate their individual interests and talents, immerse themselves in nature, and develop important life skills such as teamwork and responsibility.
Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments
